City starts with maintenance repair work of Sea Point sea wall

The City’s Coastal Management branch is planning to undertake maintenance work to a section of the Sea Point sea wall, located along the Atlantic Seaboard. This involves repairs to the deterioration on the wall face. The contractor has established site earlier this week and aims to complete the project in June 2024, if all goes according to plan. Read
The City will be undertaking maintenance work on a section of the Sea Point sea wall between Rocklands beach and Norfolk Road in Sea Point, Cape Town.
A section of the walkway will be cordoned off while the work is under way and pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be diverted as needed to limit disruption to access.
'Our Coastal Management team needs to complete the repairs to the Sea Point sea wall as efficiently as possible. We therefore ask that residents and visitors co-operate with the teams on site. The project team will try their best to minimise the disturbance and impact on the public and promenade users over the next few months while we ensure that this critical piece of infrastructure is repaired ahead of the winter season,' said the City's Deputy Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment, Alderman Eddie Andrews.
